GLEON – SALT Agenda 2/25 Meeting

1. Long-term data collection progress reports: # of lakes, # of years, chemistry measured, trends observed:
   • Nick: USA
     • 90+ lakes
   • Sam: Canada
     • Dozens of lakes, more time to collect data
   • Flora: Central/South America
   • Sarah: Africa
   • Jamie: Europe
     • Sweden has total coverage, some UK, work on Finland/Norway
2. Future long-term data collection
   • How much longer?
     • Mid-April, but starting working on data processing
   • Weaker regions to target
     • Add Australia/NewZealand
3. Dataset Processing
   • Standardize format, create metadata and combine into one dataset?
     • Hilary will talk to Corinna
   • Control Vocabulary for Datasets (Nick)
   • Standardizes variable naming and dataset structure
   • Share control vocab supplement
   • Share metadata template
   • Everyone does metadata, but does anyone want to take lead on combining, formatting?
4. Preliminary results of literature search
   • Current state of research into the effects of Na and Cl
   • Major knowledge gaps to be filled
5. Future directions for literature search
   • Target papers related to specific research questions?
   • Assign topics
6. Status of NLA, specifically 2012 (Hilary)
7. ODS Wiki
   • Would it be useful for our future goals?
